After four months of monsoon silence, Kamshet's launch sites are green, washed clean and ready. Our pilots have spent the break servicing wings, checking reserves and - honestly - watching the sky a lot. The 2026-27 season opens this month, and the first tandem slots are already being requested.
This is the moment regulars wait for: the air is fresh, the Sahyadris are at their greenest and every pilot on the team is hungry to fly. If you have been planning a flight 'someday', opening month is when someday gets a date.
What opening week looks like
Season opening is deliberately careful. Pilots re-check each site's wind behaviour after the rains, confirm landing fields and approach paths, and run the first flights in the calmest windows. For passengers that means early slots, extra attention in briefings and a team that is fresh rather than fatigued mid-season.
Expect the announcement to come with a flyable forecast, not a fixed calendar promise - we open when conditions say so. Guests on our early list get first pick of confirmed windows, which is why joining it now matters.
Why opening-month flights are special
Early-season flying has a different feel: smoother air for first-timers, dramatic green valleys, waterfalls still running on the ridges and uncrowded launch sites. Photos from October consistently outshine every other month, and the crew's energy is at its yearly peak.

How to get a first-week slot

Opening enthusiasm never overrides procedure. Briefings, equipment checks and weather calls run exactly as they do mid-season, and if the first flyable morning takes a few extra days to arrive, we would rather keep you waiting on the ground than rush the sky.

What our pilots did all monsoon
The break is rarely idle. Wings and harnesses go in for inspection and servicing, reserves are repacked, and instructors refresh syllabi for the new intake of P1 and P2 students. Some of the team trains elsewhere during the rains; others spend the monsoon coaching ground handling or studying the season's incident reports.
By opening week the equipment is freshly checked and the crew is rested - which is exactly the state you want in the people flying you. It is also why early-season slots come with the year's sharpest briefings.

Once the season opens, the next milestones come fast: the first weekend crowds, the festive-holiday spike around Diwali, and the settled December-January peak when both Mumbai and Pune descend on Kamshet. Booking early for October is the calm version of all three.
